About Lauchlin Fields
Lauchlin is the founder and chief visionary officer of LF Voices Collective and the director of growth and innovation of Deep South Today, a growing network of digital nonprofit news organizations in the Deep South, including Mississippi Today and Verite News in New Orleans.
Before transitioning to her current role, Lauchlin held various positions at Mississippi Today, the network’s flagship nonprofit newsroom, which was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 2023. From web management to audience development, her journey at Mississippi Today was informed by her roots in local reporting. Now, she leads DST Connect, a full-funnel concept and centralized team of experts focused on innovative growth and sustainability for the network of newsrooms.
She has a bachelor’s in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi and was the founder and co-owner of Front Porch Fodder, a web and engagement design business built to help small businesses and nonprofits tell their stories and create unique user experiences.
Lauchlin founded and published The ‘Sip magazine, a quarterly print publication that celebrated Mississippi’s diverse cultural landscape.
She lives in Vicksburg, Mississippi, with her wife Olivia and their two sons, Grady and Henry.

It’s a space I’ve created to uplift the untold, to challenge the narratives, and to weave a more inclusive tapestry of our collective history. Through our work, we aim not only to amplify diverse voices but also to support and nurture strong leaders by fostering kindness and courage in our storytelling.

For nearly five years and 15 issues, the quarterly print publication, The ‘Sip, celebrated the people, places and culture of Mississippi.
The publication helped shine a bright light on Mississippi.
The editor’s note from each issue, called From the Front Porch, gives a taste of what each issue offered. The ‘Sip was just the beginning.
